mikeś loatest journal entry made me thing about something. that something is how hars it is to find a bi lingual person. people know snaches of different languages but there are very few people who are capable of existing and blending in with a culture thats diferent from theirs. its also sad that all you have to do is learn english and you can get almost anywhere in teh world. it makes those of us who speak english get cocky. we tend not to learn different languages becuase english is so widely used. its sad when there are kids of 6 here that are completly fluent in both spanish and english and at home there are people who dont even want to give a different language. its even worse when almost everybody here has some grasp of english and many people at home dont have any idea of a different language. it just makes you think about what the world wil be in the years to come...
